Do not use default permalink structure on wordpress because doing default permalink structure is bad for SEO. Default permalink is something like this.

Plain: http://www.example.com/?p=123
Day and name: http://www.example.com/2-17-03-26/sample-post/
Month and name: http://www.example.com/2-17-03/sample-post/
Numeric: http://www.example.com/archive/123
Post name: http://www.example.com/sample-post/
Custom structure: http://www.example.com/%postname%/
You go to WordPress dashboard settings >> Permalinks option and set the permalink URL as described in this screenshot below.

Out of all these, you have to choose the post name and custom structure type. This method is the most popular and the most blogger uses links of this type. Favicon must be in favicon.ico format.

4. Add Favicon and Touch Icon:

The favicon and site icon is very important for any website blog. This is the icon that is shown with the site page name when you open the site in the browser. It is used for website identity.

Mostly, all WordPress themes have the feature of adding a favicon, yet you can also add a site favicon with a direct WordPress feature.

For this, you go to WordPress dashboard >> Appearance >> Customize option and click on site identity and upload the favicon for your website and set it.

Apart from this, you can also add favicon through direct .htaccess file, for this you add this code in .htaccess file.

RedirectMatch 301 /apple-touch-icon(.*) ?.png http://example.com/apple-touch-icon.png

Here you have to add the URL of your icon instead of "http://example.com/apple-touch-icon.png". If you want more information about it, then you should read the post 3 great ways to add Favicon in our WordPress blog, 3 ways to add favicon are mentioned in it.

5. Delete Unused Theme and Plugins:

When we install WordPress, many unused themes and plugins with default theme are installed on it. You have to uninstall deactivate all the extra themes and plugins that you do not need.

Although unused themes and plugins have no effect on site performance, but this can cause you a server problem.
Many themes and plugins have a coding problem that can have a bad effect on your site, so it is better to delete the plugins and themes without need.

6. Install Essential Plugins:

After creating a WordPress blog it is necessary to use some important plugins. There are some essential plugins which are very important for your blog. Here I will tell you about some important plugins.

Yoast SEO: yoast SEO plugin is the best for doing SEO settings of WordPress blog, it helps to rank your site in search engines. Its best thing is that the features of its free plan are not less than the features of any paid plugin. Apart from Yoast SEO, you can also use the All in One SEO Pack plugin.

7. Select Best WordPress Theme for Your Blog:

To make a WordPress site professional, you must have a good theme. On WordPress dashbaord >> Appearance >> Theme option you will get lots of free and premium themes. You can use the theme you like.

But I will ask you to install a theme that is SEO friendly, provide you all the necessary features and which you can easily customize. There are many such themes but for this the best is to use framework + theme.

With this, you can do the necessary editing for yourself in the child theme without editing the framework. According to me the Genesis Framework is the best for this.

Most WordPress users use the same genesis theme as they are fully SEO friendly and provide you many features.

If you can use the paid theme, then I would suggest you to choose the genesis framework itself. Apart from these, there are many best themes that you can use as you like.

If you do not want to use the paid theme, then you do not apply a good free theme and customize it and remove unwanted external links from it.

Remember, never use the cracked version of a paid theme. Crack themes are developed by hacker and after applying your theme, your site or your necessary data can be hacked or someone can misuse your site.

8. Submit Blog with Google Webmaster Tools:

To show the website in google and other search engine, you will have your blog Google webmaster tool, Yahoo webmaster tool, Bing webmaster tool, Yandex webmaster tool etc. Will have to submit in search engines.

If you use the Yoast SEO plugin, you can easily do this. The Yoast SEO plugin provides the feature of submitting sites in google, bing, yandex and pinterest. You will get verify code of this type from google search console which you have to add to blog.

9. Connect Site to Google Analytics:

Google analytics is the best option to track website traffic, it tells the performance report of your blog. On this you can check how much traffic is coming from where on your site and on which keyword.

I have already told about this in the 7 Tips article on checking Google Analytics Performance Reports. If you want to know how to view site performance report on google analytics, then this post will help you a lot.

Analytics are the best tool for optimizing website content and creating ideas for writing new content. Also you can connect it to google search console as well.

10. Star a Email Delivery Service:

After creating a blog, when you publish a new article on your blog, then your readers should get its notification. Users who use internet daily can open your site and check your latest post.

But some people are unable to visit your site for many days due to short time, for such users you can use email delivery service.

With this, readers can subscribe to your blog, after that whenever you share a new content on your site, your readers will get its notification mail.

There are many companies providing email services for this, such as Mailchimp, Awebar etc. And if you are thinking about free email delivery service then Google FeedBurner is the best for you.

Follow this guide to start feedburner service on your website.

After creating Google feedburner account you will get RSS feed URL which you have to add to your blog. In the WordPress blog you can add the RSS Feed URL to the update services option in writing settings.

11. Insert Branding in Your RSS Feed:

To make RSS feed a brand, you can add the official logo of your site to it. With this, more and more people will like your email message.

12. Turn Off Post Revisions in WordPress:

When you write a post or edit a post, Wordpress saves it by making a backup so that you can get the previous version of the post again in case of any problem. This is not required much and this increases the size of the wp_posts table in your blog's MySQL database.

That is why it is better to disable post revision. So you go to cPanel >> File manager and click on public_html section and add this code in wp-config.php file.

define ('WP_POST_REVISIONS', false);
After this the revision of any of your posts will not be saved and if you want to keep 1 or 2,3 revision of the post, then you can set the limit of post revision, for this you add this code in the wp-config.php file.

define ('WP_POST_REVISIONS', 2);
Only 2 revision of your post will be saved, you can delete it with database optimize plugin. WP-DBManager and Optimize Database after Deleting Revisions plugin are the best for optimizing the database in free plugins.

13. Disable HTML in WordPress Comments:

WordPress allows commenters to use the HTML tag in the comment box so that the commenter can easily add html hyperlinks links to the comment box.

Some users take advantage of this wrong and add their websites' URLs to comments to promote themselves, although comments links are rel = nofollow but still they can have a bad effect on your site.

If you want to disable HTML tag completely with comments, then add this code to your blog's functions.php file.

add_filter ('pre_comment_content', 'esc_html');
14. Change Auto-Save Interval:

When you are writing a post on a blog, Wordpress automatically saves the words you type. This feature is so that for some reason the browser or your PC is closed, you can get the post again.

In default settings wordpress auto your content every minute, you can reduce or reduce this time. For this, you add this code to the wp-config.php file.

define ('AUTOSAVE_INTERVAL', 120);
Here 120 means 120 seconds i.e. 2 minutes if you wish, you can do more less.

15. Hide None-Essential WordPress RSS Feed:

Wordpress software installation generates many RSS feeds like blog feed, article feed, comments feed, category feed, archive feed, tags feed etc.

Actually, there is no need for all this, for you blog feed and comments feed these main feeds are enough, everyone should remove them from the blog, all these only increase the meta data HTML size on your blog.

Add these code functions.php file to remove the extra and none-important RSS feed.

remove_action ('wp_head', 'feed_links', 2);
remove_action ('wp_head', 'feed_links_extra', 3);
16. Maintain a Single RSS Feed, Redirect Others:

After removing the extra RSS feed, you should redirect all the remaining RSS feeds to your main RSS feed so that if someone opens your other RSS feed URL then it reaches your main RSS feed.

If you use google feedburner, then you can redirect all other RSS feeds to your feedburner URL with the help of this code. This code has to be added to the .htaccess file.

<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
RewriteEngine on
RewriteCond% {HTTP_USER_AGENT}! ^. * (FeedBurner | FeedValidator) [NC]
RewriteRule ^ feed /?.*$ https://feeds.feedburner.com/online1help[L, NC, R = 301]
</IfModule>
Remember to replace the feedburner URL with your feedburner URL before adding it to the code .htaccess file.

17. Stop WordPress from Guessing URLs:

If you use any WordPress blog or visit someone else's blog, then you must have seen that even after opening the Wrong or half URL of the site's post, the post becomes open. These are called Guessing URLs.

For example, when you open the https://www.online1help.com/hello of the WordPress site, then https://www.online1help.com/hello-word article will be opened in its place. Exactly the same happens with the opening of post category and tags URLs.

This is a danger for SEO and this can lead to the problem of copyrighting content. You can solve this problem by stopping the guessing URLS.

If you want to stop it, then you add this code to functions.php file, after that the page not error 404 show will be replaced by guessing URLs.

remove_filter ('template_redirect', 'redirect_canonical');
If you want to stop guessing urls and use more SEO friendly way, then you add this code in functions.php file.

add_filter ('redirect_canonical', 'bs_no_redirect_404');
function bs_no_redirect_404 ($ redirect_url)
{
 if (is_404 ()) {
 return false;
 }
 return $ redirect_url;
}
If you find it uncomfortable to follow these codes, then you can use the Disable URL Autocorrect Guessing plugin.

18. Move out Media Upload Folder:

Normally, WordPress stores all uploaded images in the wp-content / uploads folder. If you want, you can transfer images to sub domain or sub directory folder. With this you can easily create site backup, it will make manageable backup.

The best part is that by serving the image on different domains, the browser loads your site pages fast. Also, the problem of month and year based image URL and folder will also be solved.

To move images to sub domain or sub directory, add this code in wp-config.php file.

define ('WP_CONTENT_URL', 'http: //img.https: //www.supportmeindia.com/media');
define ('WP_CONTENT_DIR', $ _SERVER ['HOME']. '/img.https://www.supportmeindia.com/media');
Before adding code, you should install subdomain in cpanel and replace the URL of your site in this code.

19. Remove Query Strings from Static Resources:

When you check your website's speed Gtmetrix, Pingdom and Google page speed insights, you will see the "Remove Query Strings from Static Resources" suggestion and the URL will be something like this.

http://example.com/wp-includes/js/wp-embed.min.js?ver=4.7.3
That is, "&", "?" In all script URLs. Or "? Ver" character will be added and everyone's version will be showing. For example, you can check the HTML source code of some WordPress blogs.

This code tells which version of WordPress is being used on your site. With this any hacker can easily find the version of your site and spar with your site.

That is why it is necessary to remove the version. For this, you add this code to your blog's functions.php folder.

// Remove query string from static files
function remove_cssjs_ver ($ src) {
 if (strpos ($ src, '? ver ='))
 $ src = remove_query_arg ('ver', $ src);
 return $ src;
}
add_filter ('style_loader_src', 'remove_cssjs_ver', 10, 2);
add_filter ('script_loader_src', 'remove_cssjs_ver', 10, 2);
20. Remove Unnecessary Meta Tags from Header:

If you look at the HTML source of a WordPress site, you will see a lot of unwanted and unnecessary metatag code in it. Really, some of these meta tags code we do not need at all, they are useless for every blogger.

For example, this meta tag code of WordPress version is absolutely useless for you.

<meta name = "generator" content = "WordPress 4.7.3" />
Yes, this information is useful for hackers, if someone is using old version then hacker can easily hack his blog. Because the old version of the WordPress software is much less secure than the new version.

The simple solution to this problem is to remove all unnecessary meta tags from the WordPress header. For this, you add these codes to the functions.php folder.

 remove_action ('wp_head', 'wp_generator');
 remove_action ('wp_head', 'wlwmanifest_link');
 remove_action ('wp_head', 'rsd_link');
21. Disable WordPress Log in Hits:

When you sign in your blog dashboard with wrong and non-existent username and password, then error of wrong password and wrong username comes.

With this, an expert can try to log in on your blog and he can easily find your username and password. It would be better to disable this warning and do another warning show.

With this, whenever someone tries to log in on your blog, then they will have your warning show set, not username or password error. For this, you add these codes to the functions.php folder.

function no_wordpress_errors () {

 return 'YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED !! RIGHT NOW !!! ';
}
add_filter ('login_errors', 'no_wordpress_errors');
It contains "YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED !! RIGHT NOW !!!" You can add any warning alert message according to your place.

22. Enable 2 Factor Authentication:

The way you use your facebook, twitter, google plus, whatsapp etc. For social account or gmail account, enable and keep 2 Step Verification. Similarly, you can enable 2-factor authentication on a WordPress site.

With this, anyone has to verify step verification OTP code from your mobile number or email address to log in to your blog and open the dashboard of your blog.

You can do this easily with the help of Dropbox or Google, but I would suggest you to use 2-step authentciation plugin for this. For this you can use Google Authenticator Two factor authentication plugin.

23. Disallow Indexing of Specific Pages & Scripts:

Everyone wants their website to crawl and index google and other all search engines but there is no benefit from indexing specific pages, script and PHP file.

You can remove all pages and folders from the robots.txt file by removing them from google and other search engines which you do not want to index.

For this, you open the robots.txt file and add this code to it. You can edit this code according to yourself.

User-agent: *
 Disallow: /? S = *
 Disallow: / wp-admin /
 Disallow: / wp-includes /
 Disallow: / wp-uploads /
 Disallow: / wp-content / plugins /
 Disallow: / wp-content / themes /
 Disallow: / feed /
 Disallow: * / feed /
If you use the Yoast SEO plugin, then go to dashboard >> SEO >> Tools and click on File Editor, add the code mentioned above to the Robots.txt folder and if you do not use the Yoast SEO plugin then you will get cpanel file manager This code has to be added after going.

24. Remove the Admin Bar:

This is an annoying feature of WordPress. Whenever we open our blog in log in browser, there is an admin bar yani toolbar show in the top. If you have also signed in to WordPress.com in the browser then the admin bar will show.

However, you can disable it by going to user profile settings, I have also mentioned it above in point 2. If you want to remove it permanently, then add this line to the functions.php file.

add_filter ('show_admin_bar', '__return_false');
25. Remove WordPress Emoji:

Starting with WordPress v4.2, emoji files have been added to it. There is no need for most bloggers.

If you also do not want to use your site emotional and emoji, then you can easily remove this extra feature.

They are not very important for any website or blog, emotional and emoji. To remove them, you add these lines to the functions.php file.

remove_action ('wp_head', 'print_emoji_detection_script', 7);
remove_action ('admin_print_scripts', 'print_emoji_detection_script');

26. Stay Logged in for a Longer Period:

When you select the "Remember Me" option when you log in on the WordPress dashboard, then you are logged in for 2 weeks on WordPress, after that you have to log in again.

If you manage your blog in your personal computer and you want that you do not have to log in to your PC again and again, you can set the log in expire date accordingly.

For this, you add these lines to the functions.php file.

add_filter ('auth_cookie_expiration', 'stay_logged_in_for_1_year');
function stay_logged_in_for_1_year ($ expire) {
 return 31536000; // 1 year in seconds
}
In this, you can set the time in seconds, if you have to do more or less time, then instead of "31536000", add seconds according to you.

27. Try Ad Blockers Plugin & Script:

If you want to use advertisement program like google adsense on your blog then you should use ad blocker.

Because today almost all browsers have add blocker installed and opening your site in browser with ad blocker will earn you 0%.

In such a situation, you can use an ad blocker plugin or script and visitors can use ad blocker to alert them or you can follow the ad blocker disabling method.

After adding the ad blocker, when someone opens your site, they will have to disable the first ad blocker. These methods are the best for Google adsense user.

Mostly users use UC Browser in which default ad blocker is enabled, if you use ad blocker disabling plugin or script, it will increase your adsense earning by 30% or 40%.

28. Remove Extra Query Parameter URLs:

If you open a post of your WordPress blog by adding few query parameters to the last, then your post will open without any error. This causes copyright content and black hat SEO problems.

For example, you can open WordPress site URLs by example.com/post-url/?utm=ga, example.com/post-url/?share or example.com/post-url/?ref=feedly type Huh. Completely different URLs will still do the same work.

This is a complete danger for SEO. You can see many such links as Crawl >> URL Parameters in google search console. It is necessary for SEO to stop all these. To fix this issue, you add this code to .htaccess file.

<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
RewriteEngine on
RewriteCond% {QUERY_STRING}! = ""
RewriteCond% {QUERY_STRING}! ^ P =. *
RewriteCond% {QUERY_STRING}! ^ S =. *
RewriteCond% {REQUEST_URI}! ^ / Wp-admin. *
RewriteRule ^ (. *) $ / $ 1? [R = 301, L]
</IfModule>

29. Prevent People to Browsing Your Folder:

Anyone can view your WordPress folders and files using the explorer view in a web browser. They are not good at all. You block web directories from search engines so that google is not able to index your plugins and theme folder.

You disallow both the wp-content / themes and wp-content / plugins folders in the robots.txt file, because which theme and which plugins you use will not be of any use.

To close it permanently, you add this line to the .htaccess file. After this, no one will be able to open your WordPress installation directory.

Options All -Indexes
30. Add Brand Site Logo:

Just as a favicon icon is necessary for any website, it is also necessary to have a logo for the site. Logo is more important than identity icon.

You can see by visiting any professional website or blog and you will get your own logo on everyone. Without logo website looks like a man without a head. That is why I personally suggest that you design a good logo for your site.

Make the site logo as much better as possible so that your site is liked by the most users. Also, add a logo to your website in all the images of your blog so that there is no problem of copyrighting.

Site logo is added in the top header or top navigation menu, but the way to add logo to the header is the best.

31. Do Not Use WordPress Search:

WordPress search shows very less relevant results. I mean you can search only correct words in wordpress search box, if you search for wrong words or extra words from your words, there will be no problem of search result.

This makes your readers very difficult to search on your site. You must have seen that if you search anything in reverse on google, the result is show, you can also use Google Custom Search Engine on your site.

This will not only give you an advantage in search results but also allows adsense advertisement with google custom search box, you can also earn by monetizing the search box.

If you do not know much about it, you can also use Google Search plugin for this.

32. Configure Reading Settings:

Reading settings are necessary for setting what your visitors want to show on your site. You go to the WordPress dashboard >> Settings >> Reading option and follow these steps.

Front page displays: You have seen the latest posts on the blog home page or set the specific front page.
Blog pages show at most: Select how many posts to show on the blog homepage.

Syndication feeds show the most recent: Select how many posts to show in Blog RSS feed.
For each article in a feed, show: To show a full text post in RSS feed or select the summary of the post.
Search Engine Visibility: If you want to hide your site from search engines, then enable the option "Discourage search engines from indexing this site" or leave it disabled.

33. Delete Default Content and Uncategorized:

When you create a WordPress blog, the post with default post, page content like hello world and category of uncategorized name are already created in it. You do not need them.

You can remove / delete all these default content. To delete the default post from WordPress, go to dashboard >> All posts, dashboard to delete the default page >> All pages, and dashboard to delete the default category >> All posts >> Categories option.

Not removing the default content from the website means making your site unprofessional. You can also change the place of removing the default category and post.

34. Create Important Pages:

It is very important to have a few pages on websites. If you do not have important pages on your site, then there will be a problem in ranking your site in search engines and also people will like your site less.

Here I tell you about those important pages with details from reason why it is important and what benefits you will get from them.

About Us: These pages are the most important for any website or blog. If you do not have this page on your site, the user will have less trust on your site. In About Us, you have to write a page about your website and yourself in 500+ words and tell about yourself and your site so that your readers will know who you are and why you have made this site.

People can contact you directly for question, problem, advice, suggestion, and your services related to Contact Us: Website. It should have complete information on your site. Tell us how you can contact us in the contact us page or as I have told about contact form 7 in point 6, you can add the contact form to the site using that plugin

Privacy Policy: People use your website and their personal information like email address, contact number etc. on your site. If you have any problem by sharing or visiting your site, what is your privacy for that. It is also important for all of them to have pages like privacy policy and terms & conditions on your site.

Disclaimer: To avoid third party action, it is important to have a disclaimer page on the site. In this, you have to tell about the liability limitations of using your site or online business.

Apart from these, you can create more important pages, but these pages must be on your site. These are necessary to make the website professional.

35. Add Page Not Found Error 404:

It is necessary to have error 404 page not found on your site. In this, you have to tell why the information searched by the user could not be found and he can be called this information.

Also you search box in error 404 page and latest posts, categories, homepage, popular posts etc. Can also add links of.

36. Set Expire Header for Static Content:

Static files are hosted by WordPress, such as CSS, Images, and JavaScript. Expire dates are not set on these, when you open your site in the browser, the browser cache remains for a long time.

That is, if you make site design or some other changes, then the user will get to see the old look of your site for a long time. Or these files are cached through the user's browser. If you want, you can manually control them.

If you use the W3 Total Cache plugin, then you will control the plugin browser cache and if not you add this code to the .htaccess file. With this you can improve the site speed performance by controlling the expire header and compression.

<IfModule mod_expires.c>

For WordPress security, you have to follow methods like backup, spam commenting, change admin username, hide log in details, protect admin area, hide wordpress version.

The most important in security is the time backup of the site. I have also told about this above, if you ever have a problem like hacking, then you can live your blog again.

Or you can use a service like Sucuri for WordPress security. You are Infected with Malware, Blacklisted by Google, Disable by Host, Spam in Search Engines, Under DDoS etc. Many security services provide.

Anyone can comment on your article on WordPress. You can manage this commenting system according to your need.

If you want, then you can allow the same people for comments on your site which are registered on WordPress or they have subscribed to your blog. Or you can also allow the user to comment.

You can do comment settings by going to WordPress dashboard >> Settings >> Discussion option.

To comment on a WordPress blog, the user needs a Name, Email, and Website URL. If you want, you can remove any of it. Like if you do not need website field then you can remove it.

Normally, it is automatically approved after user comment, if you want, you can manually approve the comments coming to your site by enabling the moderation option. Apart from this, you can set whether or not to show the image of commenters in the comments.

40. Add Important Sidebar Widgets:

Mostly WordPress themes feature sidebar widgets and footer widgets. Footer is not that important but sidebar widgets are mostly used by blogger.

To make blog professional, it is necessary to add the necessary widgets in the sidebar like most popular posts, Recent Posts, Recent Comments, Categories, and Advertisement & Subscription Services.

But one thing to note is that by not adding more widgets in the sidebar, readers have problems with extra content. Also it makes a difference on site loading.

For this, you can go to WordPress dashboard >> Appearance >> Widgets option and add sidebar and footer widgets.

41. Add Most Important Footer Credit Links:

Details of almost every website and blog on the Internet are found in its footer links, you can open any site and see the links of its necessary pages will be added to the footer.

To make the site professional it is necessary to do this, that is why you add the necessary links in the footer of your blog. This includes About Us, Contact Us, Privacy Policy, Copyright Act, Services, Terms & Conditions, Disclaimers, Site Info etc. can add

Its main reason is that the visitor will visit the footer to know about your site and would like to know about you and your site whether the content of your site is real or fake but when they will not find any such necessary link in the footer. Hardly they visit your site again.

42. Create Custom Navigation Menu:

In default settings wordpress adds only existing pages on the blog to the site navigation menu, you have to delete all that and add navigation menu items according to your importance.

On WordPress you have 2 ways to add menu. One you can add navigation menu with live preview by going to dashboard >> Appearance >> Customize option and second you can go to direct dashboard >> Appearance >> Menus menu set Can do

After creating the menu, choose the location for it, mostly before and after menu header is best, else you can use the menu according to your needs.

Remember to always use mobile responsive theme, as well as the navigation menu of your site should be full responsive.

43. Change Default Admin User:

When you install wordpress blog, its admin user is "admin" which anyone can easily trace. I mean these are not good for blog security.

If you have selected custom username and password while installing WordPress site then you do not need to do anything and if you have not done so then you should change adminer details.

Choose Difficult username and strong password so that no one can easily find out your admin details.

44. Setup Your Gravatar:

Wordpress uses a specific type of avatar called GRAVATAR ie Globlly Recognized Avatar to show your image on WordPress sites, you have to set your profile picture on gravatar.com site.

After adding the image to Gravatar, WordPress will automatically show in post and comments. Whenever you post or comment on a WordPress site, your avatar will start appearing after adding your email address there.

For this, you have to create an account on the gravatar site, whether you can also log in with wordpress.com ID on gravatar, along with the profile picture, you also have to add name, address, contact info.

45. Set WordPress Media Settings:

You can better handle images by setting WordPress image settings. By default, WordPress creates multiple sizes of the image you upload.

This causes your blog pages to load with unnecessary files and slows down the loading speed of your site. That is why it is important to solve it.

Go to WordPress dashboard >> Settings >> Media option and set Thumbnail size, Medium size, and Large size to width and height 0px on all.

Also disable the "Crop thumbnail to exact dimensions (normally thumbnails are proportional)" option. You can use plugins like Imagify Image Optimzer to compress images.

If you do not want to use plugins and want to set the size without the plugin, then add these lines to the functions.php folder of your blog theme.

// * Add new image sizes by smi
add_image_size ('home-middle', 320, 200, true);
add_image_size ('home-top', 750, 400, true);
add_image_size ('sidebar-thumbnail', 150, 150, true);
In this, you can customize the images size according to your need.

46. Install and Setup Yoast SEO:

WordPress is not SEO friendly, you have to manually optimize its search engine. In this, Yoast SEO helps you the most. It provides all the features of SEO that are required to make WordPress SEO friendly.

Setup of Yoast SEO plugin is not easy, you must have its basic information.

Remember, your little mistake may have a bad effect on the search ranking of your site, so set all the options correctly.

Apart from Yoast SEO, you can also use the All In One SEO Pack plugin, but according to me Yoast SEO is the best.

47. Install & Setup Cache Plugin:

I have already told about this that to speed up WordPress it is necessary to use the cache plugin so that the pages of your site can be loaded fast. In this, WP-Rocket, W3 Total Cache, and WP Super Cache plugin are the best.

But WP-Rocket is a premium plugin and there is no free service whereas free plan of W3 Total Cache, and WP Super Cache plugin is also available.

You can select either of these two plugins, the services of both are almost same but I would suggest you W3 Total Cache plugin as it provides more features than WP Super Cache.

If you are a newbie and you do not have any knowledge about this, then I would suggest you WP Super Cache as it can be setup easily by anyone. W3 Total Cache is a bit difficult to setup, for this you will need basic guideline.

48. Use a Content Delivery Network (CDN):

Content delivery network ie CDN's work is to take the files (like CSS, Javascript and Images) of your websites fast from your hosting server to the visitors so that the visitors browser can download the content of your site fast.

Apart from this, the biggest advantage of using CDN is that when your server is down or offline, it shows the files of your site already added to the audience.

Almost all the famous and most popular WordPress blogs you visit, almost all of them use CDN service.

 For example, Copyblogger, example, WPBeginner, Neialpatel etc. All CDNs use service. This means that all your favorite bloggers use the content delivery network.

CDN is the best MaxCDN in services but it provides only paid services. If you want to use free CDN then CloudFlare will be best for you. They also provide Free SSL Certificate along with Free CDN service

I also use CDN service and I would personally recommend you to use any best CDN service for your site.

49. Turn Off Pingbacks and Trackbacks:

By default, when another blogger or website owner mentions your blog URL or the URL of any page of your blog in your blog or website, you get its trackbacks and pingbacks notifications. They notify you every time someone does this.

With this, the update version of your post or page which other people will mention will be added to your blog database. By turning it off, you can save extra database data. Also it helps in speeding up the site.

For this, you should go to WordPress dashboard >> Settings >> Discussion option and according to the screenshot below, in the Default article settings "Attempt to notify any blogs linked to from the article" and "Allow link notifications from other blogs (pingbacks and trackbacks)" on new articles "Deselect both.

50. Always Use Latest WordPress Version:

Always use the latest version of WordPress. When you install WordPress, many times its latest version is not installed, you have to update later.

WordPress keeps bringing new updates time to time and provides new features with every update. It is important to all of these that the latest version has more security than the previous version. In the old version there is a fear of being hacked more than the latest version.

That is why if you want security of your wordpress blog then always use latest version. Also, keep updating plugins and themes as soon as update is available.

Conclusion,
After creating a WordPress blog, the biggest problem of every user is that what should they do after creating a blog? How to setup a blog and how to set its required settings? The answers to these questions are found on very few websites and even if they are found, then I have written this post on very few sites so that all those beginners can be helped and they can setup and install their WordPress blog easily.
